Grapest 5km Run - Saturday 20th April 2024

Saturday 20th April 2024 - Sip happens!

Behold multitasking at its best – one of life’s greatest pleasures—drinking wine—has been combined with a bit of healthy outdoor exercise.  The Grapest 5K Run, the star of Australia’s running (and wine connoisseur) calendar, is set to descend on award-winning winery Leura Park Estate for the firth year, in the spectacular heart of The Bellarine, with a wine-based fun run on Saturday 20th APRIL.

You'll have to put in the hard yards before you get your red and white rewards.  Imagine it - you’ve run, walked, and skipped your way through the vines, and by the time you’ve hit the ‘Wine Waddle’ for your cool down, you’ve totally forgotten you even worked up a sweat!

Participants can choose to circumnavigate dams and vines around the stunning winery course on either a 5km or 10km run.  For those whose mojo doesn’t include running as a highlight, the 1km Wine Waddle has you covered.  Along the way, all ‘Grapesters’ will get to taste eight wines and ciders at various stations. The finale of the day will see some great food, wine and live music on offer to bring the Grapest gang together to relax and enjoy.

The Grapest 5K Run event has enjoyed fantastic success over the years, delivering a truly unique fitness and wine-tasting experience at vineyards right across the country. Wine-loving fitness enthusiasts have made their way through some of Australia’s most iconic and picturesque wine regions, from Victoria to NSW and South Australia, Queensland to Western Australia, Canberra and Tassie, and now our wine-loving runners are once more set to get a taste of this unparalleled experience in the Geelong Wine Region.

The ticket price will include lots of useful things you’ll need on the day – a custom wine glass attached to a lanyard, a Grapest wrist band and the unique ‘Sip Happens’ bottle stopper finisher’s medal. And don’t forget the live-band after-party featuring legendary local band Test Pilot Molly.

Off-road terrain/course

When participating in a Grapest 5K Run, you should expect an off-road terrain course, which means this may be rough and rugged under-foot, dusty and/or muddy, depending on the weather conditions at each event. Some courses may use sections of the road or have a road-crossing, or use an adjoining estate.

Depending on each vineyard's harvest requirements, some may permit running/walking through the vines, and others may use the exterior ground around the vines and vineyard property, and adjoining properties.

Please ensure you bring the correct footwear to accommodate all terrains. Please note: The 10km course will be 2 x laps of the 5km course.
